Architect sues over alleged services for Grand Villa Casino Hewitt + Kwasnicky Architects Inc. is suing Gateway Casinos LP and Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Inc. for more than $920,000 for architectural services allegedly provided for the Grand Villa Casino in Burnaby. According to court documents filed in B.C. Supreme Court on September 4, Hewitt + Kwasnicky alleged it provided architectural services and that those services were changed and expanded on different occasions. According to court documents, despite demand, and in breach of contract, Gateway Casinos has refused or neglected to pay the amounts invoiced. Hewitt + Kwasnicky is seeking $922,951 for architectural services along with a builder’s lien for $922,951. A statement of defence had not been filed by press time.
